The IRCC, Canada has introduced a new sponsorship process which will allow Canadian or permanent residents to sponsor their spouse/partners for permanent residence in Canada. This sponsorship program is issued very recently by the IRCC with the aim to bring in loved ones together in this pandemic situation. Canada will continue to take 6000 spousal sponsorship application per month till the end of 2020. Both Canadian and Permanent residents of Canada can sponsor their spouse/partner for permanent residence. They must prove to the IRCC that their relationship falls under these following categories-
1. Spouse
2. Common-law partner
3. Conjugal partner
The person being sponsored must be 18 years or older and the sponsor must prove that he is financially capable of taking care of the spouse/partner. They also need to prove that they plan to live in Canada with the person they are sponsoring.
